Butterflies & Gelato
The very moment I told the kids we were going to the BUTTERFLY CONSERVATORY at the Pearlridge mall, they proceeded to scream and run around in circles with excitement.
"Are you serious? REAL Butterflies??" exclaimed Gabriel.
When we got there, we bought our tickets and waited patiently to be let into the conservatory.
Then, when we got inside they were so mesmerized and content playing with these winged creatures that they've never been able to touch before.
At first, Esther didnt want to touch them at all, because when you really look at them closely, they look like BUGS haha. After I showed her how gentle they were, pointed out their long tongues licking the fruit punch syrup on the long Q-tip, and let them crawl around on me, Esther was hooked. Completely enamored by their wonder.
Gabriel went right in, hands-on with everything. Grabbed a fruit punch stick, played with butterflies, asked the guide questions, poked at caterpillars, and moved non-stop.
When it was time to leave, we headed over to Cookie Corner and got one chocolate dipped peanut butter cookie and one chocolate dipped shortbread cookie. Then we stopped at Aloha Gelato and got one kids cup of pitaya gelato and a small cup of macadamia nut gelato. We then took our bundle of goodies and sat outside on the rock wall, and enjoyed our sweet treats.
Another adventure in the books. . .
